Breathtaking Vista: Rates 3.5 on our 5 scaleNarrow; double Botz Dots spoils this 3.3 mile drive from Tuna Cny to Stunt/Schueren. Drives best as a hill climb, going west from Tuna Canyon to Stunt Cny Rd. Many drivers with four cylinder engines complain their gear ratios are wrong for Saddle Peak Cny Rd. Guys with short final drive ratios complain of excessive incipient apex revs. But, we never hear Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, NSX, or BMW drivers complain of this. Henceforth, the Saddle Peak hill climb favors high output vehicles with long second gear ratios.
Going westbound (e.g., hillclimb), Saddle Peak is nice, in a Boxster.
Elevation peaks about 2,500 ft. Going east from Stunt Cny, you'll be too busy to enjoy the spectacular vistas of Los Angeles, below. If given a house along Saddle Peak, for free, 99.9% of Americans wouldn't be able to afford to pay their property tax. Astronomical real estate price as a function of demand drives the cost of the most spectacular panoramic vista of Los Angeles Metro, roadside of Saddle Peak Rd, well into seven figures. Property tax leveraged against homeowners along Saddle Peak Rd is so expensive, that it exceeds the real wage of 99.9% of the world's most productive workers (Americans).
Problematical roadside parking for multiple vehicle driving events, we recommend you avoid routing multiple vehicle caravans via Fernwood Pacific and Saddle Peak Rd unless your people are acclimated to this drive. If you insist, then do so well into the evening hours. The view is better at night, anyway.
Fair Warning: Going eastbound, bear down early, on the brakes, just as you arrive, for the right hand turn, ar Tuna.
~ Saddle Peak Lodge An overpriced, overrated restaurant: Cold Canyon @ Piuma. Expect door dings.
