Have a close look at the junction of Mulholland and Encinal, just west of Kanan. Failing to merge right going westbound on Mulholland, most people discover Encinal accidently. Subsequently, many a traveler becomes confused when it spills out at the intersection of..."Encinal Canyon Rd and ... Encinal Canyon Road? What the ______?" That intersection puts people's brains in a loop. Everytime we go by there, off to the side of the road, is some poor guy, roadside, getting ragged on by his better-half for getting completely lost!
Going west from Kanan Rd, on Mulholland, be sure to merge right to continue on Mulholland Hwy. Otherwise, you'll wind up at the intersection of... Encinal and Encinal (!?), or you'll emerge, shoreline, several miles downrange east of where you intended.
We like Decker Rd better. We don't generally drive Encinal Canyon. But, the Porsche guys, and the sport bike contingent, just love it. Unique to Encinal, there are three fast 180 degree banked sweepers, and a very fast constant radius 90 degree banked sweeper that are most certainly worth while. Last time we went through there, it was quite bumpy, though. If there's anyone out there who drives Encinal frequently, kindly chime in with a report! We'd greatly appreciate it!
Operation Safe Canyon Advisory: Four times faster, than Decker, keep Encinal in mind, if you need a quick, hasty egress.
