A drive through dense forest: Rates 4 on our 5 scale

Traffic... Sanded in winter. Exiting Hwy 14 at San Fernando Rd, traveling north through Santa Clarita, what was once three lanes going both ways will eventually deplete, of suburbs, the FID will change, to Bouquet Canyon Rd, and you'll soon find yourself in deeply forested sports car country. Going west to east, Bouquet Canyon Road is a mild hillclimb consisting of 2nd & 3rd gear blind rises and sweepers which links rural Leona Valley, to the Santa Clarita conerbation, through dense forest vegetation. Ascends to approximately 4,000 ft before plunging, into Leona Valley, which lies right atop the San Andreas Fault.

Bouquet takes snow in winter. Henceforth, January to March, it is frequently sanded down by county public works. Poor to moderate visibility, Bouquet Cny Rd is a class 3 undivided county maintained road in good condition with no out-wash scars, and no dips. Botz-Dots. No cattle bars.

Going SW to NE, there is one passing zone before you enter the forest where it's possible to use up most of your speedometer. After that, second or first degree passing will be required to overtake slower vehicles you encounter. Favors lightweight supercharged mid-engined vehicles. This road drives best going SW to NE into the Leona Valley.

A few runs across Bouquet, won't be long before you'll have it pegged. Definitely one of my favorites. Drives best, as a continuation, from Little Tujunga, northbound, to Spunky Canyon
