This page is infrequently updated, and serves as a reverse directory for which we geographically index various staging areas, and segmentation intermediates. Our links page contains somewhat more useful comprehensive information about some of these key geographic locations. Go to our secret web pages for the cool scoop on where our super secret turn-outs and ditch-points we use, are to be found.

Low-Profile Staging Areas: Santa Monica Mountains

Low-Profile Staging Areas: Northern Transverse Ranges

Low Profile Staging Areas: Santa Monica Mountains (going east to west):

~ Carl's Jr./Chevron: Cahuenga @ Lankershim, off Hwy 101... Everything, right there, for you, but racing fuel; parking for > 40 cars.

~ Chevron: Sunset @ Pacific Coast Hwy. Good air compressor, good restrooms; it's tight, but we've shoehorned 20 cars, into that Chevron Station.

~ Saddle Peak Overlook: Stunt Rd @ Saddle Peak @ Schueren. Great view, but that's about it; parking < 30 cars.

~ Saddle Peak Lodge Cold Canyon @ Piuma... look sharp; expect door dings; $100 tab is typical.

~ The Rock Store: Mulholland Highway, between Las Virgines & Kanan. Thee place to go, when you're at Mulholland Raceway. I go there, for pancakes and coffee; I like this place.

~ Neptune's: Yerba Buena & Pacific Coast Highway. Restrooms, seafood, refreshments, anotomically correct females everywhere; parking < 100 cars.

Low Profile Staging Areas: Northern Transverse Ranges (west to east):

~ Park & Ride: 500 East Ojai Ave. Ojai, CA. Unleaded racing fuel the only exception, everything is right there, for you, within a 0.25 mile radius. Before going north, from there, you'd be wise to top off your tank.

~ Oneza Station: Hwy 33 @ Lockwood. No GEMs. Just north is the Old Halfway Station. Haven't been there, in years.

~ Three Points Saloon: Pine Canyon Rd & Three Points Rd, 3 miles or so south of Hwy 138. No fuel; no compressor.

~ Harley's Rock Inn: Lake Hughes Rd @ Lake Elizabeth Rd ...a biker joint/bed 'n breakfast.

~ Palmdale Shell: Palmdale Blvd @ State Hwy 14... 105 octane unleaded racing fuel is available.

~ Hansen Dam Recreation Area: Osborne Exit off Hwy 210. Picnic tables & rest rooms; parking > 200.

~ Hidden Creek Inn: Angeles Forest Hwy, a mile or so north of the tunnel. Short order menu; parking < 30. Far too dangerous a place to hault your caravan.

~ Shell & Unocal: Angeles Crest Hwy @ Hwy 210. Shell is open 24/7, but the ramp angle is too steep, for low profile sports cars. The Unocal is much-much better for us.

~ Vincent Hill Saloon: Soledad Canyon, a left from the terminal end of Angeles Forest Hwy. Nice place to stop, if your best gal is along, for the ride.

~ Newcomb's Ranch Cafe: Angeles Crest Hwy, 29 miles west of Big Pines. Food, beverages and restrooms. Parking depends on how many motorcycles there are.

~ Mountaintop Cafe: Hwy 138 @ Angeles Crest Scenic Biway. Beverages, restrooms, good food at a great price. Nearest fuel is Cajon Junction; parking > 40 cars.
